Risograph Workshop
While studying abroad, my Graphic Design Foundations studio took a week-long class trip to the Netherlands. One of the most memorable days was spent at PrintRoom in Rotterdam, a creative space all about self-publishing and experimental print projects.
My studio and I got to take part in a hands-on Risograph workshop, with just one rule: use only two colors to design a standard-sized poster.

What is Riso Printing?
Risograph printing can be described as a form of “digital screen printing.” While the process closely resembles traditional screen printing, it offers the ease and efficiency of an office copier. It is celebrated for its vibrant colors, which are often unachievable with standard printers—and its distinctive textures. Risograph machines embrace “perfect imperfections,” making them an affordable and accessible way to produce large quantities of work such as prints, posters, invitations and zines.
